After graduating Cum Laude from law school, Mr. Marr worked for several law firms in the San Diego area where he began specializing in both litigation and preparation of transactional documentation. In early practice, Mr. Marr was primarily a litigator with his practice focused on Real Property, Creditor Rights, Commercial, Collections and Bankruptcy related matters. During this time, Mr. Marr also attained significant experience related to insolvency counseling developing a Chapter 11 practice and successfully reorganizing many individuals and businesses over the last 30 years.

In 2004, Mr. Marr was recruited to become general counsel to several mortgage lending companies headquartered in California and Hawaii. He also served as general counsel and board director for a small pubic company known as Investors Finance, Inc., which was a non-depository financial services lender making residential/commercial loans in Hawaii. During this period, Mr. Marr primarily focused on the analysis/negotiation/preparation of mortgage loan documentation, purchase and sale agreements and commercial related documents including lease agreements.

In 2010, Mr. Marr resumed private practice opening his own law firm and has continued to maintain a hybrid practice focused on both litigation and transactional matters. Since that time, Mr. Marr has continued to expand his knowledge and experience while also representing plaintiffs in personal injury, product defect, elder abuse and mass torts claims. Mr. Marr serves as “of counsel” to Joshi Law GroupFirm which focuses practice in bankruptcy and personal injury related matters and Adler Law Group which focuses on representation of injured plaintiffs including wildfire claimants throughout all California.

Case Results

Mr. Marr has successfully settled and obtained trial verdicts for commercial, business, personal injury and elder abuse claimants. He has also successfully defended individuals and business all aspects of litigation in both State and Federal Court. Plaintiffs sought in excess of 1 million in compensatory and punitive damages but recovered nothing against his client after the superior court entered a defense verdict in favor of the director/treasurer.

Personal Injury Settlement:

Mr. Marr obtained a $400,000 settlement on behalf of a client that was struck while in a cross walk. The client had suffered significant physical and emotional injuries including a broken femur.

Personal Injury Settlement:

Mr. Marr along with co-counsel obtained policy limit settlements for his client from two separate insurers after his client sustained neck and back injuries resulting from two separate rear-end car collisions despite each insurer initially disputing liability and causation with each defendant driver blaming the other for his client’s injuries.

Elder Abuse Settlement:

Mr. Marr along with co-counsel obtained a six-figure settlement for his client from a residential health care facility based on its failure to safeguard an elder patient at the facility which sustained fatal injuries after falling at the facility on multiple occasions.
